Schudy Streaks To Victory At US 36!

Osborn, Mo: Kory Schudy of Battlefield, Missouri, streaked to victory Friday at US 36 Raceway for his second straight win with the Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA Sprint Car Series in 2023. The 2021 MWRA Champion running the Jon Sawyer Racing 28 would lead this one from start to finish to record his 6th all-time win as well with the Midwest Wingless Racing Association.

Point Leader Wyatt Burks of Topeka, Kansas, would come home in second place on this evening trying valiantly to catch Schudy throughout the 25 lapper driving the Wyatt Burks Racing 11w. While (Nixa, Mo) chauffeur Wesley Smith hopped into the Lewis Racing 2 for the first time ever to complete the podium at US 36 finishing in third place. Meanwhile (Overland Park, Ks) wheelman Luke Howard driving the Howard 2H in 4th, and (Kearney, Mo’s) Brad Wyatt in the Valor Racing 41 came home in 5th after racing from his 13th starting position.

On a beautiful night for racing in Northwest Missouri, drivers that included Chris Parkinson from (Gladstone, Mo) in 6th, Dakota Earls (Independence, Mo) 7th, Zach Clark (Raymore, Mo) 8th, Chad Winfrey (Gladstone) 9th, and Jason Billups (Holt, Mo) in 10th would round out the top 10.

The performance of the night went to the recent high school graduate from Independence, Earls, navigating his way to 7th after starting dead last in 16th driving the Dakota Earls Racing 15e. Before hand on pit row the setup for Earls was described as, “Throwing the kitchen sink at it” after a abysmal heat race go. But ended with Dakota earning the Hard Charger award after his run in the feature.

Earlier in the evening Schudy and Burks duked it out in the first heat race in a spirited go with Schudy holding on for the win, while taking high point honors, leading to a start on the pole after rolling a zero on the invert. While (Warsaw, Mo) racer Riley Kreisel would win the second heat race going away over Clark.

The Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA sprints will next be in action this coming Friday at Electric City Raceway, in (Butler, Mo) for the second time this season on July 28th. And then the next night on July 29th at Nevada Speedway in (Nevada, Mo) for the first and only time in 2023.
