SMITH SCORES SECOND SPRINT CAR WIN OF 2019 AT VALLEY

GRAIN VALLEY, MO. (June 16, 2019) – Earning his second triumph of the season, Wesley Smith of Nixa, Mo. scored a popular win on Friday night at Valley Speedway as he piloted the Helm Racing No. 12 to victory lane in the John E. Helm Memorial with the POWRi Lucas Oil Valley Outlaw Sprint League.

Racing to the lead on lap 10, Smith worked by polesitter and early-leader, Brian Beebe, to take command just prior to the halfway mark. Coming down to the final lap, Smith fought off a hard-charging effort from Riley Kreisel, who ended up spinning his No. 90 machine in the midst of a last-ditch effort to steal the win away.

Ultimately, Wesley Smith, the current POWRi Lucas Oil Valley Outlaw Sprint League points leader, would not be denied. The Nixa, Mo. native won the John E. Helm Memorial aboard the Helm Racing No. 12, extending his points lead and nabbing his second win of the year at Valley Speedway.

Mitchell Moore of Edgerton, Kansas piloted his No. 51 entry to a runner-up finish of second, while Taylor Walton of Warrensburg, Mo. rounded out the podium in third-place aboard his No. 93. Closing out the top five on Friday night at Valley was Brian Beebe of Oak Grove, Mo. in fourth and Quinton Benson of Emma, Mo. in fifth-from-12th.
