Warrior Region 2013 finale this Friday in Grain Valley
Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (October 1, 2013) The Speedway Motors Warrior Region will bring their 2013 season to a close this Friday, October 4 at the Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo.
Despite a less than ideal weekend this past Friday and Saturday night at the Lucas Oil Speedway, Jonathan Cornell was able to put the finishing touches on his 2013 campaign, sealing up his second straight Warrior Region title heading into Friday’s finale.
The third visit of 2013, Brian Brown and Johnny Herrera grabbed up the first two rounds at the Grain Valley oval.
Going into the closing weekend, eight drivers have earned victories with the Speedway Motors Warrior Region in 2013. Jonathan Cornell, Johnny Herrera, and Brian Brown are the only repeat winners so far with Cornell at eight wins, Herrera at three, and Brown with two.
Jay Russell, Tony Bruce, Jr., Jack Dover, Jake Martens, and Seth Bergman each have a single victory.
In total, 121 drivers have taken part in Speedway Motors Warrior Region events with 94 drivers making at least one feature start.
Friday, October 4 at the Valley Speedway will include Vintage and Midget classes in addition to the Speedway Motors Warrior Region. Gates open at 6:00 P.M. with Hot Laps beginning at 7:00 P.M. For more information on the Valley Speedway, log onto http://www.valleyspeedway.com.
